The excellence of the terroir of Château Capbern

THECapbern CastleIt produces fine and elegant wines that showcase Bordeaux classicism.raw bourgeois, which takes its name from Denise Capbern Gasqueton, is typical of theSaint-Estèphe appellationPowerful and expressive of the local terroir, the vineyard sits on a mix of sandy gravel, clay-gravel, and limestone soils, which imparts its distinctive character to the wine. This terroir is ideal for Cabernet Sauvignon, which displays remarkable elegance and classic beauty. Furthermore, the vineyard is cultivated sustainably, and the harvest is done by hand, allowing for initial quality control of the grapes directly in the vineyard. Once picked, the grapes are destemmed using a vibrating destemmer and then sorted manually on a sorting table. All of this allows the winemaker to fully appreciate the unique character of the local terroir while enjoying wines that are both refined and elegant.

The unique expertise of Château Capbern

    When tradition and modernity meet

THECapbern CastleDespite being over 120 years old, it is resolutely modern. Indeed, a new winery was built in 2010, for example, according to gravity-flow principles and plot-by-plot selection. Vinification takes place in temperature-controlled cylindrical stainless steel tanks. Maceration then lasts from 18 to 21 days with two pump-overs per day. Malolactic fermentation occurs at 26°C in stainless steel tanks at 20°C. Finally, aging lasts from 18 to 20 months in barrels, 60% of which are new. Thus, by combining an ancestral terroir with modern winemaking techniques, theCapbern CastleThis wine offers a vintage with an intense color ranging from ruby to purple. Its nose is very rich and pronounced, and on the palate, the structure is powerful and remarkably long. The wines produced by this estate are excellent for aging. Indeed, after ten years, they develop a complex bouquet with tannins that soften, creating a sensation of perfect harmony.
