A large family estate
The story begins withNicolas Schlumbergerunder the Empire. He settled in Guebwiller as a tanner and bought 20 hectares of vineyards. The vineyard and its terroirs
One of the largest vineyards in Alsace
The Schlumberger Estateextends over 140 hectares in a single block. Half is spread over4 Grands Crus: Kitterlé, Kessler, Saering and Spiegel.The vineyard is located on the vertiginous slopes ofGuebwillerwith slopes of up to 50°. The vines reach altitudes of between 250 and 380 meters. To maintain this exceptional vineyard, four stonemasons work full-time on the estate. They maintain the 50 kilometers of walls that support the vines. This arrangement allows the vines to benefit from triple sun exposure.
