The Countess's legacy

The origins ofChâteau Pichon-Longueville Comtesse de Lalandeare closely linked to those of the Pichon Baron estate. Indeed, they initially formed a single property. It was upon the death of Baron Joseph de Pichon Longueville that this large estate was divided in two. In 1850, his daughter, Virginie de Pichon Longueville, inherited part of the vineyard, which she named after herself. In 1925, Edouard and Louis Miailhe purchased the estate. From an old family of Bordeaux landowners and brokers, they were wine specialists. In 1978, Edouard's daughter, May Eliane de Lencquesaing, inherited the estate in turn. She managed it with passion until 2007. Thanks to her work, the wine achieved international renown.Louis Roederer Champagne HouseShe finally took over this family business. She makes it a point of honor to preserve its warm and traditional spirit.

The Louis Roederer Champagne House takes over the Château

The Rouzaud family, owners of theLouis Roederer Champagne House, gives new impetus to this Château. Having been established in the Gironde region since 2007, she oversees the estate's well-being. She is the one who equipped it with a new winery, as well as the very latest model of tanks. The new oak barrels will contribute to the development of fabulous aromas. The winery and its tanks will allow the wines to reveal their full potential. Their aromas of tobacco, violet, and other ripe fruits are simply incomparable. These technical improvements allow her to produce increasingly compelling vintages. Nicolas Glumineauis the new manager ofChâteau Pichon Longueville Comtesse de LalandeAssisted by Frédéric Rouzeau, the technical director, he now manages the vineyard. His main challenge is to follow in the footsteps of all the great women who built the château. Like them, Nicolas has a particular passion for quality. Armed with patience and dedication, he ensures that the estate remains at a very high standard. Aware that his choices will impact the future of the estate, he adapts his decisions and vision accordingly. In this way, he effectively prepares the ground for future generations.

Château Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande boasts an incredible setting, further justifying its preservation. From the magnificent château itself to the terraces stretching along the banks of the Gironde estuary, the scene is breathtaking. Particular care is also being taken with this exceptional terroir.
