    Owner and history

In addition to its magnificent château and breathtaking landscape with terraces stretching along the banks of the Gironde estuary, Château Pichon-Longueville Comtesse de Lalande boasts exceptional terroir. The 85-hectare vineyard lies on a gravelly, clay-rich soil composed of Garonne gravel, a perfect match for the typical Médoc grape varieties. The vines are on average 35 years old, with 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc, and 5% Petit Verdot. This diverse range of grape varieties, combined with highly technical production methods and state-of-the-art facilities, provides the ideal conditions for producing a Second Growth Classified wine.
