The unique character of the Clos-Venturi terroir

        Atypical geological and climatic conditions

The distinctive feature of the terroir ofVico EstateIts unique character lies in its diverse geology and climate. It is the furthest from the sea and one of the highest. It benefits from a mountain climate favorable to aromas thanks to significant temperature variations. The vineyards are situated on a geological fault and thus have a great diversity of soils.Clos-Venturi consists of 25 hectaresfrom the best terroirs of the estate. The vines are about thirty years old and benefit from an optimal south-east exposure and a predominantly sandstone soil.

The main grape variety remains Vermentino for white wines. Red and rosé wines, on the other hand, incorporate different grape varieties such as Syrah, Nielluccio, and Sciaccarellu. With the exception of Syrah, all these varieties are noble indigenous grapes planted by the Acquaviva-Venturi family to highlight the region's unique characteristics.Corsican terroir.

THEVico EstateThe vineyard has been fully modernized since 1989; however, the grape harvest is still done manually and vineyard work is often carried out using animal traction. Furthermore, the family uses preparationsbiodynamicin order to preserve the true essence of their grapes.

        Between modernism and tradition

        A constant quest for perfection

Thanks to its environmentally friendly farming and winemaking practices, theVico Estatereceived the highest level of certification in 2015High Environmental ValueIn fact, it is the only farm on the Isle of Beauty to have this agricultural recognition.

The red wines ofClos-VenturiThe grapes macerate for 30 days at a low temperature. Aging takes place in concrete tanks and large oak casks for one year, then in the bottle for 10 months. The result of this expertise is a complex and fruity red wine, sometimes even spicy.

For white wines, a light filtration takes place. Then, aging on fine lees in stainless steel tanks for 6 to 8 months is followed by 3 to 6 months in the bottle. The white wine has just as much character as the red wine and possesses exquisite freshness.

Always with the aim of perfecting the quality of its wine, theAcquaviva-Venturi familyconducts in-depth geological studies on each of the plots in order to more precisely determine the areas with high potential.
