Bourgueil - page 4

The Bourgueil appellation is an AOC wine produced on the right bank of the Loire River. The chalky soils yield wines with a brilliant red color and intense aromas of small red fruits. The other half of the vineyard, with its sandy and gravelly soils, produces wines with animal notes and aromas of raspberry and licorice. This terroir, with its single grape variety, Cabernet Franc, similar to Chinon, also produces dry rosé wines, representing 3% of the total production.
