    The history of the Bernard Gripa Estate

    A family business

    Located in theRhône Valleyin the small village of Mauves, theBernard Gripa Estatecultivates 16 hectares of vines. While the estate is now run by Fabrice Gripa, it was his father, Bernard Gripa, who founded this family business in 1974.

    THEBernard Gripa EstateIt enjoys an ideal location, situated north of Vienna and south of Valencia. This small village faces the region's steep slopes, terraced with vineyards. Furthermore, the Gripa family boasts a multi-generational history, passing down its expertise from generation to generation.

    Respect for the land and the environment is paramount for this family of winemakers. Indeed, Fabrice, the current owner, cultivates his vineyard exclusively using organic farming methods, even though the estate is not certified.

    A vineyard in an ideal location

    In total, the vineyard ofBernard Gripa Estateextends over16 hectares of vineyardsThe estate is located in the heart of the finest appellations of the Rhône Valley. Indeed, 3.5 hectares of vines are cultivated under the appellation.Saint-Péray(which mainly produces white wine from Marsanne and Roussanne grapes). The rest of the vineyard is planted under the appellation ofSaint Joseph.

    The soil of the Domaine Bernard Gripa vineyard in the Saint-Joseph appellation is composed of complex granite, with Syrah, Marsanne, and Roussanne grape varieties planted. The vineyard located in the Saint-Péray appellation has clay-limestone soils.

    The vines have an average age of 65 years, with some being over 80 years old.

    The wines ofBernard Gripa EstateSaint-Joseph wines are renowned for their precision and remarkable balance. They are very expressive and reveal a magnificent aromatic range.

    The Saint-Péray wines exhibit an equally masterful balance. The wines are luminous, fresh, and possess great aromatic depth.
