Producer

Producer

The Casa Lapostolle vineyard is located in the Colchagua Valley, an exceptional terroir where varied soils and a Mediterranean climate foster the production of high-quality grapes. The vines are cultivated on gentle slopes, allowing for optimal drainage and ideal sun exposure. The estate prioritizes sustainable farming practices, respecting natural cycles and biodiversity. This approach results in healthy, concentrated grapes, essential for crafting wines of great aromatic complexity.

Owner and history

Today, the estate is run by the Lapostolle family, who continue to uphold the legacy of its founders. Alexandra Marnier-Lapostolle, granddaughter of the creator of the famous Grand Marnier liqueur, embodies this passion for winemaking. Under her leadership, Casa Lapostolle has modernized while respecting its traditions. The family is also committed to sustainable practices, aiming to preserve the environment and promote biodiversity within their vineyards.

Vinification and aging

The winemaking process at Clos Apalta is meticulous, beginning with a rigorous selection of the grapes. After hand-harvesting, the bunches are destemmed before being fermented in stainless steel tanks. The wine is then aged in French oak barrels, some of which are new, for approximately 18 months. This careful aging process allows the tannins to soften and the oak aromas to subtly integrate. The result is a rich and balanced wine, bearing the imprint of the Chilean terroir.
