    Description

Maison Jacquesson, located in Dizy in the heart of Champagne, has embodied artisanal elegance and meticulous vineyard management since the 18th century. This family-run house, now managed by the Chiquet brothers, distinguishes itself through its unique vision: producing terroir-driven Champagnes in limited quantities, far removed from the standards of industrial blending. By highlighting each harvest and each plot with extreme precision, Jacquesson crafts cuvées with strong personalities, combining purity, tension, and depth. Cuvée N°748, made primarily from the 2014 vintage, is a perfect example of this.

    Notes and pairings

    Tasting notes

Jacquesson's Cuvée N°748 2014 presents a brilliant pale gold color, with fine, elegant bubbles. The nose is complex, revealing notes of citrus, white flowers, dried fruit, and a subtle touch of chalk. On the palate, the attack is direct, fresh, and taut, with a chiseled structure and a beautiful salinity. The finish, persistent and mineral, confirms the precision of this exceptional Extra Brut.

    Food & wine pairings

This Champagne pairs perfectly with briny seafood, scallop carpaccio or sea bream ceviche.

The Jacquesson vineyard covers approximately 30 hectares spread across prestigious appellations in the Marne Valley, the Côte des Blancs, and the Montagne de Reims. The soils are predominantly clay-limestone and chalky, imparting finesse and minerality to the wines. The vines, cultivated using sustainable farming practices, are carefully tended to best preserve the identity of the terroirs and guarantee high-quality grapes.

    Owner and history

Today, Maison Jacquesson is run by Jean-Hervé and Laurent Chiquet, two passionate brothers who have breathed new life into the house. Their meticulous, artisanal approach aims to produce distinctive, authentic, and expressive Champagnes. By focusing on small vineyard plots and low dosages, they place the identity of the terroir at the heart of their philosophy. Their unwavering commitment to quality and respect for nature makes Jacquesson a leading name in characterful Champagne.

    Vinification and aging

Winemaking at Maison Jacquesson follows traditional methods, with fermentation in old casks, without systematic filtration or fining, in order to respect the fruit and its terroir as much as possible.
Cuvée N°748 is made from the 2014 vintage with a rigorous selection of plots. It benefits from extended aging on lees before disgorgement, and is distinguished by an extra brut dosage (0 to 2 g/l), accentuating its purity and depth.
