The Château Branaire-Ducru vineyard stretches across clay-gravel soils, typical of the Saint-Julien appellation. These mineral-rich terroirs promote optimal drainage, allowing the vines' roots to draw water deep into the soil. The oceanic climate, tempered by the influence of the Garonne River, provides ideal conditions for grape ripening. The estate is currently transitioning to sustainable agriculture, respecting the ecosystem and promoting biodiversity, which contributes to the exceptional quality of the wines.

Owner and history

Today, Château Branaire-Ducru is managed by the Maroteaux family, passionate about the art of winemaking. Their commitment to quality and sustainability is at the heart of their philosophy. They have restored the estate to its former glory while preserving its history. The family is also dedicated to environmentally friendly practices, blending tradition and innovation. Thanks to their vision and dedication, Château Branaire-Ducru continues to produce exceptional wines, celebrated by wine lovers worldwide.

Vinification and aging

Winemaking at Château Branaire-Ducru is carried out with meticulous care. The grapes are harvested by hand and then precisely sorted to retain only the finest. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, allowing for optimal temperature regulation. Aging occurs in oak barrels, 60% of which are new, for approximately 12 to 15 months. This crucial stage imparts complexity and elegance to the wine, with aromas of fine wood and delicate notes of spice and vanilla. Every detail is carefully considered to enhance the unique character of this grand cru.
