The Château Montrose vineyard spans 95 hectares in a single block, ideally situated overlooking the Gironde estuary. This prestigious terroir is divided into two main terraces, Terrace 3 and Terrace 4, a truly elite core dedicated primarily to Cabernet Sauvignon. The soils, composed of deep gravel over clay, ensure even ripening of the grapes, both technically and aromatically. Committed to regenerative agriculture, the estate preserves its ecosystem while optimizing the quality of the berries. This approach allows Château Montrose to produce wines of great finesse, deeply rooted in the grandeur of their terroir.

    Owner and history

Since 2022, Château Montrose has been led by Charlotte Bouygues, President, and Pierre Graffeuille, Managing Director. This dynamic duo embodies a clear vision: to guide Montrose towards sustainable excellence. Charlotte Bouygues perpetuates the family tradition while driving an ambitious ecological transformation, while Pierre Graffeuille brings renowned oenological expertise. Together, they work to preserve the unique identity of this terroir while addressing current and future climate challenges. Their commitment to innovation and sustainability ensures a promising future for Château Montrose, respectful of its heritage while constantly striving for the highest quality.

    Vinification and aging

Château Montrose employs a precise, plot-by-plot vinification process, where each parcel is treated individually to fully reveal its unique character. The grapes are harvested by hand and then fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, ensuring optimal temperature management. For the 2022 vintage, the wine is aged for 18 months in French oak barrels, 60% of which are new. This rigorous process refines the wine's tannic structure, enriches its aromatic profile, and guarantees a perfect harmony between freshness, complexity, and remarkable aging potential, true to the estate's unique style.
