97/100 pts VINOUS “ The 2016 Suduiraut is fabulous. Crème brûlée, passion fruit, mandarin peel, and exotic floral notes leap from the glass. I marvel at how the Suduiraut can deliver such intense flavors while remaining so graceful and elegant. The 140 grams of residual sugar are beautifully integrated. It is a magnificent wine .” Antonio Galloni

94/100 pts ROBERT PARKERThe 2016 Suduiraut reveals a spicy bouquet with aromas of licorice, acacia, curry leaves, and exotic fruits mingled with ripe orchard fruits. It is round, with a fruity core perfectly balanced by a gastronomic bitterness and a long, penetrating finish.Yohan Castaing

Harvested in four stages between September 22 and November 9, with a yield of 22 hectolitres per hectare, it was aged for 18 months in 50% new oak barrels and 50% one-year-old barrels.

    Owner and history

The Château Suduiraut vineyards cover 90 hectares, planted on sandy gravel soils typical of the region. These soils promote perfect drainage, essential for the concentration of the berries during the development of noble rot, indispensable for the production of great Sauternes.

    Vinification and aging

After a meticulous harvest carried out in several passes, the grapes are pressed and fermented in oak barrels, where the wine is aged for 18 to 24 months. This aging process gives the wine delicate woody notes, great complexity, and a silky texture.
