The Domaine Claude Dugat Griotte-Chambertin 2020 Rouge boasts an intense and brilliant ruby color. The nose reveals profound aromas of black cherry, violet, musk, and undergrowth, enriched by subtle mineral notes. On the palate, the wine is noble and full-bodied, structured by remarkably fine tannins. The balance is perfect, supported by a delicate freshness. The long and vibrant finish confirms the great potential of this exceptional vintage.

The Griotte-Chambertin plot, barely one hectare in size, rests on finely marly limestone soil typical of the Côte de Nuits. The vines, several decades old, are cultivated with meticulous care, respecting both the living organisms and the terroir. This climate, perfectly exposed to the east, allows for optimal ripening of the Pinot Noir. The deep root systems of the vines impart a natural concentration and a unique mineral character to the grapes of this rare Grand Cru.

Owner and history

Today, the new generation of Dugat winemakers carries on the tradition of excellence: Bertrand Dugat, at the helm since 2013, embodies the alliance between Burgundian tradition and contemporary precision. His respectful approach to the terroir, combining sustainable agriculture and minimal intervention in the cellar, guarantees the authenticity of the wines. Under his guidance, the estate maintains its pure and elegant style, while demonstrating remarkable consistency vintage after vintage. His rigorous vision contributes to Claude Dugat's international renown.

Vinification and aging

At Domaine Claude Dugat, winemaking remains traditional: hand-harvesting, partial destemming, long macerations, and natural fermentations in open vats. The wine is aged in French oak barrels, with a significant proportion of new oak, for 16 to 18 months.
On this 2020 vintage, the estate has managed to combine power and refinement, thanks to gentle extraction and exemplary mastery of aging, allowing the Griotte terroir to fully express itself.
