The Domaine Dugat-Py vineyard stretches across carefully selected plots, where the clay-limestone soil imparts a unique character to the wines. The old vines, often over a century old, plunge their roots deep into this rich terroir, fostering an authentic expression of the grape varieties. The diversity of exposures and microclimates in Gevrey-Chambertin plays a crucial role in the ripening of the grapes, allowing for an optimal harvest that reflects the identity of the place. This vineyard is a true treasure, nurtured by the time-honored expertise of its winemakers.

Owner and history

Today, the estate is run by the Dugat family, who carry on the tradition and passion of their ancestors. Their commitment to excellence is reflected in every bottle, where a love of wine and respect for the terroir come together. The owners, true artisans of wine, are also environmentally conscious, practicing sustainable viticulture that preserves biodiversity. They are convinced that each wine reflects its terroir and its history, and they strive to convey this philosophy through their creations.

Vinification and aging

Winemaking at Domaine Dugat-Py is carried out with meticulous care, blending tradition and modern techniques. The carefully selected grapes are destemmed before being gently crushed. Fermentation takes place in open vats, promoting the extraction of aromas and tannins. Aging in oak barrels lasts between 12 and 18 months, depending on the vintage, allowing the wine to develop its complexity and elegance. This painstaking process aims to preserve the purity of the fruit while subtly integrating the oak notes. Each step is a tribute to the terroir, guaranteeing wines of exceptional finesse.
