The vines of Domaine Faiveley, particularly those of the Premier Cru Les Rugiens, flourish in clay-limestone soils, ideal for growing Pinot Noir. The Burgundian climate, with its harsh winters and hot summers, promotes optimal grape ripening. Each plot is cultivated with care, respecting the vines' natural rhythm. The diversity of terroirs within the Pommard appellation contributes to the unique personality of each wine, offering a range of experiences for wine lovers.

Owner and history

Domaine Faiveley is currently managed by the seventh generation of the Faiveley family. At the helm of this prestigious estate, Erwan Faiveley, passionate about the family heritage, continues to champion the excellence of Burgundy wines. Under his leadership, the estate has successfully combined respect for tradition with innovation, thus guaranteeing high-quality wines. The Faiveley family is deeply attached to its terroir, and each wine is an expression of their commitment to Burgundy.

Vinification and aging

Winemaking at Domaine Faiveley is a mastered art, blending tradition and modernity. After a carefully selected, hand-harvested grape harvest, the grapes are destemmed before being placed in vats. Fermentation takes place under temperature control to preserve the aromas. Aging occurs in oak barrels, some of which are new, allowing the wine to subtly integrate the woody notes. This extended aging process, generally lasting 12 to 18 months, gives the Pommard 1er Cru Les Rugiens unparalleled complexity and depth.
