    Owner and history

    The Domaine Hubert Lignier vineyard is situated on exceptional terroirs in the Côte de Nuits, where the soils are predominantly composed of limestone and deep clay. These geological characteristics give the wines a pronounced tannic structure and excellent aging potential. The "Les Seuvrées" parcel is ideally located at the foot of the Premier Cru vineyards of Gevrey-Chambertin, benefiting from optimal exposure that allows for slow and even ripening of the Pinot Noir.

    Vinification and aging

    Winemaking at Hubert Lignier is based on a traditional approach that respects the fruit. Fermentation takes place with whole bunches, which brings complexity and texture to the wine. Indigenous yeasts are favored to preserve the authenticity of the terroir. Aging, lasting 18 to 24 months, takes place in French oak barrels, a moderate proportion of which are new, allowing the tannins to be refined without masking the wine's identity. This meticulous approach gives the 2019 Gevrey-Chambertin Les Seuvrées great depth and beautiful aromatic complexity, which will evolve admirably over time.
