    Description

Located in Saint-Pargoire, in the Languedoc hinterland, Domaine Peyre Rose is the visionary creation of Marlène Soria, a free spirit and emblematic figure of the Languedoc. On a garrigue terroir swept by the winds and bathed in Mediterranean sunshine, she has been crafting powerful, profound wines built for aging since the 1990s. Certified organic, the estate distinguishes itself through demanding viticulture, extended aging, and a constant pursuit of purity. The 2015 Belle Léone cuvée embodies the full force of this unique place, with wines boasting an intense, spicy, and structured profile that have become cult favorites among connoisseurs.

    Notes and pairings

    Tasting notes

Belle Léone 2015 boasts a deep garnet robe with purplish highlights. The nose reveals an enchanting complexity of sweet spices, candied black fruits, fine leather, and garrigue. On the palate, the texture is ample and velvety, supported by a firm yet perfectly integrated tannic structure. The balance between power and freshness is impressive, as is the length on the palate, with balsamic and mineral notes, attesting to the great aging potential of this vintage.

    Food & wine pairings

This wine pairs perfectly with a matured rib of beef, a lamb tagine with prunes or a wild boar stew.

The Domaine Peyre Rose vineyard stretches across nearly 17 hectares of clay-limestone slopes in the heart of the Languedoc. The vines, some several decades old, benefit from optimal sunshine and a dry, windy microclimate, ideal for chemical-free cultivation. Farmed organically from the start, they produce very low yields, concentrating the expression of the Mediterranean terroir in each grape, with rare intensity and authenticity.

    Owner and history

Marlène Soria, a former real estate agent turned self-taught winemaker, built Domaine Peyre Rose against the grain of convention. From the 1990s onward, she established a powerful and authentic style, refusing any commercial compromise. A pioneer of biodynamic winemaking and extended aging, she produces rare vintages, now sought after worldwide. Her exacting standards and radical vision have elevated Peyre Rose to the status of an icon of the Languedoc, at the crossroads of classicism and avant-garde.

    Vinification and aging

At Domaine Peyre Rose, winemaking is based on traditional principles: hand-harvesting, total destemming, and long macerations. Fermentation occurs naturally, without yeast or oenological additives.
Belle Léone 2015 benefits from several years of aging in stainless steel tanks and old barrels, followed by extended bottle maturation in the estate's cellars before release. This long aging process gives the wine exceptional complexity and depth.
