The La Mouline vineyard stretches across steep slopes, where the Syrah vines benefit from optimal sun exposure. The soils, composed mainly of schist and clay, impart a pronounced minerality to the wines. The region enjoys a Mediterranean climate, with hot summers and mild winters, promoting perfect grape ripening. Environmentally friendly farming practices help preserve biodiversity and best express the unique character of this exceptional terroir.

Owner and history

The estate is currently managed by Marcel and Philippe Guigal, who carry on the family legacy with passion and determination. Under their leadership, the estate has continued to grow while maintaining exceptional quality in its wine production. They have successfully combined tradition and modernity, introducing innovative practices while respecting time-honored expertise. Their commitment to quality and preserving the terroir has allowed E. Guigal to forge an international reputation, making its wines essential benchmarks in the world of wine.

Vinification and aging

The winemaking process at La Mouline is meticulous. The grapes, carefully hand-harvested, are destemmed before being vinified in stainless steel tanks. Fermentation, carried out at a controlled temperature, allows for the extraction of aromas and color from the berries. Aging takes place in oak barrels, some of which are new, to bring complexity and roundness to the wine. This aging process lasts approximately 18 months, during which the wine develops its structure and elegance, while respecting the identity of the terroir.
