    Domaine Joseph Drouhin spans several prestigious Burgundy appellations, with a notable presence in the Côte de Nuits, where the limestone and marl soils impart a beautiful minerality and unique elegance to the wines. The vines are cultivated with an environmentally conscious approach, promoting deep root systems and an authentic expression of the terroir. Meticulous vineyard management, combined with limited yields, ensures high-quality grapes, essential for crafting exceptional wines.

    Vinification and aging

    Winemaking at Maison Joseph Drouhin is a subtle balance between tradition and innovation. The grapes are harvested by hand to ensure rigorous selection. After partial destemming, fermentation takes place in open vats, with controlled pump-overs and punch-downs to extract color and tannins while preserving the fruit's finesse. The wine is then aged in French oak barrels, 20% of which are new, for 14 to 18 months. This aging process imparts a harmonious structure and beautiful aromatic complexity to the wine, while respecting the pure expression of Pinot Noir.
