Notes and pairings

Tasting notes

This Condrieu displays a clear, elegant, and brilliant pale yellow color. The complex and refined nose opens with floral aromas of acacia and linden blossom, accompanied by fruity notes of bergamot and a subtle smoky touch. On the palate, the attack is fresh and perfectly balanced, with a beautiful mineral tension. The salinity on the finish prolongs the tasting, bringing elegance and vibrancy to the whole. A precise and vibrant wine with a unique signature.

Food & wine pairings

Sublime with scallops, saffron risotto or blue cheeses.

Owner and history

The “Chéry” vineyard in Condrieu boasts an exceptional terroir with its south-facing, mica-rich granite slopes. Here, Viognier reveals its full complexity thanks to biodynamic farming and multi-pass hand-harvesting. This meticulous approach guarantees concentration, freshness, and tension. Respect for the soil and its living organisms is central to Mr. Chapoutier's philosophy. Each bottle faithfully expresses the unique identity of this terroir.

Vinification and aging

The Coteau de Chéry 2024 vintage is made using a gentle method: whole-cluster pressing, minimal sulfur addition, and fermentation with indigenous yeasts. Vinification takes place in large oak casks, demi-muids (10% of which are new), and stainless steel tanks. Eleven months of aging on fine lees adds complexity, volume, and freshness. This approach highlights the granitic terroir and the purity of the Viognier grape. The wine is distinguished by its richness, tension, and elegance.
