On the palate, the wine seduces with its vivacity, crystalline texture, and taut mineral structure. The vines of Mas Haut Buis are planted at an altitude of over 500 meters, on the foothills of the Larzac plateau, in the heart of the Hérault region. The soils combine hard limestone, clay-limestone scree, and schist, giving the wine a beautiful mineral tension. The cool climate and altitude promote slow and harmonious ripening. For the Les Carlines cuvée, the old vines are worked by hand, respecting the living environment, without herbicides or chemical pesticides.

    Owner and history

Olivier Julien is the passionate and dedicated winemaker behind Mas Haut Buis. Trained in agronomy and having returned to his roots in Montpeyroux, he has made the estate a model of biodynamic and artisanal viticulture. Convinced that wine is made first and foremost in the vineyard, he is committed to biodiversity, soil balance, and low yields. His dedication results in luminous wines, true to the terroir, sincere, and respectful of life.

    Vinification and aging

The estate practices natural winemaking, using indigenous yeasts, without additives or harsh mechanical intervention. Fermentations are slow and spontaneous, respecting the vintage.
For Les Carlines 2023, the wine was aged in stainless steel tanks and demi-muids to preserve the purity of the fruit and the minerality of the terroir. The wine is neither fined nor filtered to retain all its substance and original vibrancy.
