The Produttori del Barbaresco vineyard stretches across gentle slopes, where the clay-limestone soil plays a vital role in the development of the grapes. The vines, some several decades old, are cultivated using sustainable practices that respect the environment and promote biodiversity. The region's continental climate, with its hot summers and cold winters, allows for optimal ripening of the Nebbiolo grape, which thrives here in a natural setting. Each plot is meticulously tended, ensuring controlled yields and exceptional quality.

    Owner and history

Today, the estate is managed by a group of passionate winemakers dedicated to preserving traditions while embracing innovation. Each owner brings their expertise and sensibility, contributing to the unique identity of Produttori del Barbaresco wines. Their commitment to quality and sustainability is reflected in environmentally friendly viticultural practices and a deep respect for the terroir. Together, they work to promote the Barbaresco name worldwide, showcasing the richness and diversity of Italian wines.

    Vinification and aging

The winemaking process for Barbaresco Rio Sordo Riserva 2017 follows traditional methods, respecting Piedmont's winemaking heritage. After hand-harvesting the grapes, they are destemmed and gently crushed. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks, allowing for precise temperature control. The wine is then aged in oak barrels, often large ones, for 24 to 36 months, depending on the vintage. This approach allows the tannins to soften and aromatic complexity to develop, while preserving the typicity of the terroir. The wine is then bottled unfiltered to retain its full richness.
