The Chianti and Chianti Classico designations are two Controlled and Guaranteed Designations of Origin located in Tuscany, Italy.
To be labeled Chianti Classico , the grapes must come from the provinces of Florence and Siena, while for the Chianti appellation they can also come from the provinces of Pisa, Pistoia, Aezzo, and Prato. The wine must be composed of at least 70% Sangiovese, an indigenous grape variety , for Chianti, and 80% for Chianti Classico. Furthermore, Chianti allows the use of up to 10% white grape varieties in the blend.

    Strozzi

The Guicciardini and Strozzi families are two very old Tuscan families who founded the Cusona estate over 1,000 years ago. This 530-hectare vineyard is located near the town of San Gimignano in Tuscany and is now managed by Girolamo Strozzi. Famous members of these families include the Mona Lisa, whose current owners are the 15th generation of descendants.

The Guicciardini-Strozzi house today represents 5 estates in Italy: Tenuta Villa Cusona (the original estate), Tenuta Poggio Moreto, Tenuta I Massi, Bolgheri and finally Coste di Kuddia on the island of Pantelleria, in Sicily.

Tenuta Guicciardini-Strozzi produces a Chianti , a Chianti Classico and a Chianti Classico Riserva.

    Castello Di Ama

In the heart of the Chianti appellation, in the Siena region, the Castello di Ama estate was founded in the 1970s. The vineyard is now run by Lorenza Sebasti, who represents the second generation, and Marco Pallanti.

Castello di Ama produces a Chianti Classico called “Ama”, a Chianti Classico Riserva and several Chianti Classico Gran Selezione: “San Lorenzo”, “Vigneto Bellavista” and “Vigneto La Casuccia”. The estate also produces Vin Santo del Chianti Classico, a local sweet wine, olive oil and red and white wines in other appellations.
