Located in the heart of Mendoza, in Argentina's most prestigious wine region, the Catena Zapata estate is a leading name in the New World. Founded in 1902, it is now recognized as a pioneer of high-altitude viticulture, with vines planted between 900 and 1,500 meters. Nicolás Catena, a visionary and fervent advocate for Argentine terroir, propelled his winery to the top through advanced scientific research and a constant pursuit of excellence. His wines, such as the eponymous Nicolás 2016, combine density, precision, and a rare balance, offering a modern interpretation of great high-altitude wines.

Tasting notes
Nicolás 2016 reveals a deep, dark robe with garnet highlights. The nose opens with concentrated notes of ripe black fruit, sweet spices, tobacco, and precious woods. On the palate, the attack is ample, the structure perfectly balanced, with firm yet silky tannins. The framework is harmonious, carried by a lovely freshness. The finish is long and elegant, marked by persistent notes of mocha, black cherry, and graphite.
