The vineyard of Château Lespault-Martillac extends across gravel and clay soils, typical of the Pessac-Léognan appellation. Owner and history

The very old château Lespault-Martillac is located on a superb gravelly ridge overlooking the town of Martillac. Since the 2009 vintage, its operation has been entrusted to Domaine of Chevalier, Grand Cru Classé de Graves, which belongs to the Bernard family. Ambition displayed by Olivier Bernard: to reveal the extent of its exceptional potential and confirm its legitimate vocation to become one of the jewels of the appellation.

Vinification and aging

Winemaking at Château Lespault-Martillac is crafted with a constant focus on quality. The grapes, carefully hand-harvested, are vinified separately to preserve the unique character of each plot. After gentle destemming, fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks, allowing for precise temperature control. Aging occurs in oak barrels, some of which are new, to impart a subtle oak influence while respecting the fruit. This meticulous process aims to create balanced wines, where each element blends harmoniously, offering a truly memorable tasting experience.
