Producer

The Château Mouton Rothschild vineyard extends across carefully selected plots in Pauillac. The soils, composed of clay and limestone, promote optimal grape ripening. The oceanic climate, tempered by the influence of the Gironde estuary, allows for the production of wines of great finesse, while maintaining a beautiful structure. The vines, averaging 30 years old, are cultivated with meticulous care, respecting the principles of sustainable viticulture.

Owner and history

Currently, Château Mouton Rothschild is managed by the Rothschild family, who perpetuate the legacy of Philippe de Rothschild, a visionary in the world of wine. Under his leadership, the estate has reinvented itself while remaining true to its traditions. The family has also implemented artistic initiatives, collaborating with renowned artists to illustrate the bottle labels, making each bottle a work of art in its own right. This artistic and innovative approach makes Château Mouton Rothschild an unparalleled estate in the global wine landscape.

Vinification and aging

Winemaking at Château Mouton Rothschild is a meticulous process. After the grapes are hand-harvested, they are carefully sorted before being destemmed. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, allowing for a gentle extraction of tannins. The wine is then aged in oak barrels, a percentage of which are new, for approximately 18 months. This method imparts complexity and exceptional aging potential to the wine, while preserving the expression of the terroir.
