The Domaine de l'Arlot vineyard covers just over 14 hectares in the heart of the Côte de Nuits, between Nuits-Saint-Georges and Vosne-Romanée. Entirely cultivated biodynamically, it includes prestigious vineyard sites such as the monopoles Clos de l'Arlot and Clos des Forêts Saint-Georges. Each parcel is vinified separately to fully express the unique character of its terroir, in the purest Burgundian tradition.

    Owner and history

Located in Prémeaux-Prissey, south of Nuits-Saint-Georges, Domaine de l'Arlot embodies the elegance and authenticity of the Côte de Nuits. Founded at the end of the 19th century, it takes its name from a small stream, "l'Arlot," that flows through the property, and has established itself over generations as one of Burgundy's iconic estates. Since 1987, it has belonged to AXA Millésimes, a group renowned for its commitment to showcasing great wine terroirs, and also the owner of prestigious estates such as Pichon Baron in Pauillac and Quinta do Noval in Portugal. Under this ownership, Domaine de l'Arlot has preserved its identity while embracing the future through demanding viticulture that respects the soil and natural cycles. Entirely managed biodynamically, the estate cultivates approximately 14 hectares of vines, including the renowned monopoles Clos de l'Arlot and Clos des Forêts Saint-Georges, true jewels of Nuits-Saint-Georges. The wines are distinguished by their finesse, energy, and ability to accurately express the unique character of each vineyard site, making Domaine de l'Arlot an essential benchmark of contemporary Burgundy.

    Vinification and aging

The winemaking process for the 2023 Premier Cru Les Suchots from Domaine de l'Arlot prioritizes softness and fruit expression. The grapes, hand-harvested and carefully sorted, ferment using indigenous yeasts, with a proportion of whole bunches for aromatic finesse. Extraction is gentle to preserve the delicacy of the Pinot Noir. Aging, for approximately 15 to 18 months in French oak barrels, 30 to 40% of which are new, adds structure and complexity while maintaining the elegance of the terroir.
