The Domaine Faiveley vineyard is rooted in the clay-limestone soils typical of the Côte de Beaune. This terroir, rich in minerals, gives the wines unparalleled complexity and finesse. The meticulously tended vines benefit from a temperate climate, with warm summers and cold winters, promoting optimal grape ripening. The Premier Cru Fremiets parcels are situated on well-exposed slopes, allowing for excellent drainage and a concentration of aromas.

Owner and history

Today, Domaine Faiveley is run by the Faiveley family, who perpetuate the tradition of excellence of this iconic estate. The current owners, Sylvain and Erwan Faiveley, are committed to preserving the family heritage while bringing a modern touch to winemaking. Their dedication to quality and respect for the environment is reflected in sustainable viticultural practices, aimed at passing this legacy on to future generations. They are also involved in promoting the Volnay appellation, contributing to its global renown.

Vinification and aging

Winemaking at Domaine Faiveley is a meticulous process, blending tradition and innovation. The hand-harvested grapes are destemmed before being fermented in stainless steel tanks, preserving the freshness of the aromas. Aging in oak barrels, some of which are new, lasts between 12 and 18 months, giving the wine added structure and complexity. This aging method harmoniously integrates the oak notes with the fruity aromas, while allowing the terroir's personality to fully express itself.
