100/100 pts LISA PERROTTI-BROWN, THE WINE INDEPENDENT
" An amazing wine that reflects a time and place, a Napa Cabernet Sauvignon over 50 years old to be enjoyed from generation to generation . "
100/100 pts JEB DUNNUCK
" One of the legendary Dominus , unquestionably in the same league as the 2018, 2016, 2015, 2013, 2010 and 1991, and in my opinion, the wine simply cannot be better. "
100/100 pts DECANTER
“ Superbly aromatic, polished, and balanced. The tannins are dense, supple, and exceptionally long, with a lovely velvety quality. Blackberry, spiced plum, and black cherry are very expressive and imbued with that hint of spice. The minerality is perfectly expressed in the form of iron and stone, and the finish is exceptionally long, nuanced with mocha, clay, and wildflowers, ending with tremendous freshness. Simply splendid .”
Terroir: volcanic soil, well-drained, gravelly and clayey. The vineyard is primarily situated on an alluvial fan descending from the Mayacamas Mountains. Underground streams flow down from the mountains, providing moisture to our soils and vines throughout the growing season.
Viticulture: certified organic in 2021. Rinsing the grapes 10 to 15 days before harvest helps to remove dust and improve the purity of the fruit.
Winemaking: minimal intervention possible. By batch. 40% was aged in new French oak barrels.
