Owner and history

The Domaine Alphonse Mellot vineyard stretches across steep slopes where Sauvignon Blanc expresses all its finesse and precision. The vines destined for Génération XIX are planted in limestone and clay-limestone soils, giving the wine its inimitable mineral signature. The organic farming practices employed at the estate promote a balanced ecosystem, thus preserving the purity and authenticity of the terroir. Thanks to optimal sun exposure and rigorous yield management, the grapes reach perfect ripeness, resulting in wines of great concentration and incredible freshness.

Vinification and aging

The winemaking process for Génération XIX 2019 is based on a respectful and minimally interventionist approach. After hand-harvesting and gentle pressing, the juice is fermented in oak barrels to add complexity and roundness. Aging on fine lees for 12 to 14 months in barrels allows the wine to gain depth and texture, while preserving its aromatic vibrancy and liveliness.
