The vines, some several decades old, benefit from ideal sun exposure, resulting in Syrah grapes of exceptional quality. The diversity of microclimates and soils contributes to the complexity of the wines, revealing the full richness of this prestigious appellation.

    Today, Domaine E. Guigal is run by Philippe and his son, Marc, who passionately carry on the family legacy. Drawing on his extensive experience, Philippe has elevated the estate to a level of excellence recognized worldwide. Together, they continue to innovate while respecting the traditions that have made Guigal famous. Their commitment to quality and their love of the terroir are reflected in wines that tell the story of their region and their family.

    Vinification and aging

    The vinification of the 2018 Ex-Voto follows traditional methods. The grapes are harvested by hand and then destemmed to preserve the purity of the fruit. Alcoholic fermentation takes place in wooden vats, allowing for a gentle extraction of tannins. Aging lasts 36 months in oak barrels, some of which are new. This crucial stage refines the wine, imparts subtle aromas, and ensures a harmonious structure. The final blend reflects the vision of an exceptional wine, both powerful and elegant.
