Ridge Vineyards' vineyards are situated on clay-limestone soils, ideal for cultivating quality grape varieties. The vines, some several decades old, benefit from optimal sunshine and natural drainage, promoting balanced ripening of the grapes. The Mediterranean climate, with hot summers and cool winters, allows for fruit with concentrated aromas. The diversity of microclimates within the estate enriches each vintage with a unique complexity, revealing the authentic character of Dry Creek Valley.

    Owner and history

Ridge Vineyards is currently led by a passionate team, with Paul Draper at the helm as general manager and winemaker. His vision has shaped the estate into a model of sustainable viticulture. The team, comprised of expert winemakers and dedicated winemakers, strives to respect heritage while innovating for the future. Their commitment to quality and environmental preservation is evident in every bottle produced, making Ridge a key player in the California wine scene.

    Vinification and aging

Winemaking at Ridge Vineyards is a meticulous process, blending tradition and innovation. The carefully selected grapes are vinified in open vats to encourage the expression of aromas. Fermentation occurs with indigenous yeasts, respecting the terroir. Aging in oak barrels, some of which are new, imparts aromatic complexity and a harmonious structure to the wine. This process, free from excessive intervention, allows the wine to flourish while preserving its purity and authenticity.
