The history of the Delas House
180 years of history, people and wines
At the beginning of the 19th century, theDelas Housewas a trading company. At that time, it did not own any vineyards and produced wines from carefully selected grapes from the best estates in thenorthern RhôneIt was only from 1960 onwards that Michel Delas (3rd generation) continued the development of the House and acquired the first vineyards. Very quickly theDelas Housereceives financial and technical support from one of its export partners: the Maison deChampagne
DeutzDelas then relocated to the town of Saint-Jean-de-Muzols.
In 1993,DeutzAndDelasare approached by the house ofChampagne Louis Roedererand fall into its clutches.
1996 marked the beginning of a new era. Major works were undertaken and the estate increased its investments in plots of land which it now operated under its own name.
The Rhône Valley
The origin of wine
The vineyard of theDelas Houseis located on the rugged and steep slopes of the iconic Hermitage hill, on the appellationCrozes-Hermitage.ThereDelas Houseowns 30 hectares of vineyards, distributed as follows:
- 10 hectares inHermitage;
- 2 hectares inSaint Joseph;
- 18 hectares inCrozes-Hermitage.
Furthermore, its association with partners and winemakers of theRhône Valleyallows us to enrich and advantageously complement the range of wines that are vinified on its site in Saint-Jean-de-Muzols, near Tournon-sur-Rhône.

- Hermitage, Crozes-Hermitage, Saint-Joseph, Côtes-Rôties, Condrieufor the northern part.
- Côtes du Rhône, Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Gigondas, Vacqueyras, Ventoux, Tavel… for the southern part.

Since 1996, Fabrice Rosset has been in charge of theDelas HouseThe winemaking process is jointly entrusted to Jacques Grange and Claire Darnaud-McKerrow. Significant investments made in recent years (new winery, complete restructuring of the aging cellar), the addition of a highly motivated team, and the rigorous selection of partner winemakers have enabled the qualitative renewal of this great historic estate.Rhône Valley.La Maison Delasconstantly improves the quality of wines from its supplies, particularly by emphasizing the concept of “sharing”, which is very dear to Delas Frères.
This House produces the finest appellations of northern France.Rhône ValleyAll the estate's wines are aged in high-quality barrels, produced byFrançois Frère, Seguin Moreau or Damy(all three world-renowned coopers).
