Producer

The Château La Clotte vineyard stretches across clay-limestone soils, typical of the Saint-Émilion region. These mineral-rich soils promote excellent drainage and optimal grape ripening. The temperate oceanic climate, with maritime influences, allows for a long ripening period, essential for developing the aromatic richness of the grape varieties. The vines, cultivated with care, receive meticulous attention throughout their growth cycle, guaranteeing healthy, high-quality grapes.

Owner and history

Today, Château La Clotte is managed by a passionate team that carries on the family legacy. The current owners, committed to environmental preservation and the quality of their wines, make it a point of honor to respect traditions while integrating modern practices. Their vision is to produce wines that tell the story of their terroir, while offering a unique and memorable tasting experience for wine lovers.

Vinification and aging

Winemaking at Château La Clotte is characterized by meticulous attention to detail and a pursuit of excellence. The hand-harvested grapes are carefully sorted before being destemmed and crushed. Alcoholic fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled vats, preserving freshness and aromas. The wine is then aged in oak barrels, some of which are new, for 12 to 18 months. This aging method imparts complexity and depth to the wine while respecting the character of the terroir.
