The Château Talbot vineyard is rooted in an exceptional terroir, characterized by Garonne gravel soils that ensure excellent drainage. The vines, averaging 35 years old, are cultivated with care and respect for the environment. Bordeaux's temperate oceanic climate, with its hot summers and mild winters, promotes optimal grape ripening, resulting in a perfect aromatic expression. The vines are planted primarily with Cabernet Sauvignon, but also with Merlot and Petit Verdot, offering a rich and balanced aromatic diversity.

    Owner and history

Currently, Château Talbot is managed by the Cordier family, who acquired the estate in 1917. Under their leadership, the estate has experienced a renaissance, with continuous investment in infrastructure and winemaking techniques. The Cordier family is committed to producing high-quality wines, respecting traditions while incorporating modern practices. Their passion for the terroir and their desire to pass on this heritage to future generations are reflected in every bottle, making Château Talbot an emblem of the Saint-Julien appellation.

    Vinification and aging

Winemaking at Château Talbot is a meticulous process that begins with the hand-harvesting of fully ripe grapes. After careful destemming, the berries are fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, allowing for precise temperature control and preservation of aromas. The wine is then aged in oak barrels, 30% of which are new, for approximately 15 months. This aging phase imparts aromatic complexity and refined tannins, while respecting the wine's unique character. Each step is carried out with passion and precision to guarantee the exceptional quality of the estate's wines.
