    Owner and history

The "Petit Lion" was created for the 2007 vintage, following the uprooting and replanting of vines mainly on several plots of the "Grand Clos", to receive the wine produced by the youngest vines and contribute to the improvement of the 2 great wines Clos du Marquis and Las Cases.

    Vinification and aging

Le Petit Lion is crafted with the same care and methods as the grand vin. The grapes are harvested by hand. Vinification takes place in a wide range of wooden, cement, and stainless steel vats, from 40 to over 200 hectoliters, allowing for flexible adaptation to batch sizes. After transfer, the wine is aged for approximately ten months in oak barrels (around 10% new).
