Tasting notes
The 2020 Colombis displays a deep, luminous garnet color. The nose opens with beautiful floral notes of peonies and roses, enhanced by cherry and raspberry. On the palate, the attack is fresh, followed by a wine with a fine, tightly structured, and delicately spiced texture. Hints of dark chocolate and licorice linger on the palate. The long, elegant finish confirms the brilliance of an exceptional Grenache.

Colombis comes from several emblematic parcels: Colombis, Le Cristia, Rayas, and Les Roues, all located in the cool terroirs of northern Châteauneuf-du-Pape. The soil blends sand, limestone, sandy loam, and rolled granite pebbles, giving the Grenache an expression of rare purity. These old vines, over 80 years old, naturally produce low yields and remarkable concentration, lending Colombis its floral charm, unexpected freshness, and elegant texture.
The team's opinion
This Colombis 2020 reveals the very essence of old Grenache: a sublime floral finesse, a deep and energetic palate, and a purity that marks the very great Châteauneuf-du-Pape.
