Owner and history

The story of La Maison Cardinale begins in 2001, when Dominique and Florence Decoster, after three decades in the porcelain industry in Limoges, acquired the Château Fleur Cardinale. In 2017, their son Ludovic and his wife Caroline took over the reins of the domaine family business, perpetuating the heritage of French culinary arts while infusing it with their vision, nourished by inspirations from elsewhere. In 2024, they created La Maison Cardinale, an entity that brings together the Château Fleur Cardinale, Grand Cru Classé of Saint-Émilion, and the Château Cardinal Cross, Saint-Émilion Grand Cru.

Vinification and aging

Winemaking at Château Fleur Cardinale The wine is crafted with care, respecting traditions while incorporating modern techniques. The grapes are harvested by hand and rigorously sorted to guarantee quality. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, allowing for precise temperature management. Aging in oak barrels, some of which are new, imparts the wine's aromatic complexity. This meticulous process aims to enhance the unique characteristics of the vintage.
