95-97 points VINOUS “ Smoky and mineral aromas of black and blue fruits, espresso, licorice, and violet, complemented by notes of cola, vanilla, and black pepper. Flavors of blueberry, blackcurrant, kirsch, and fruitcake are supported by spice and display remarkable depth and energy. Spice and floral notes echo a very long, penetrating, and smoky finish, shaped by well-integrated tannins that develop harmoniously .”
Côte Bodin is a small lieu-dit of 0.7ha benefiting from a full south exposure, where the vines were planted in 1987. It is one of the most renowned parcels of Côte-Rôtie, where the granitic and schist soils, combined with steep slopes, give the Syrah a great finesse and a unique minerality.

Jean-Michel Gerin's sons, Michaël and Alexis, are now fully responsible for the day-to-day operations in the vineyards and cellar, as well as for sales worldwide. Under their guidance, the wines have become more restrained, without becoming timid. The use of new oak has been reduced, but it is still present. This is not a problem, however, as these wines are intended for long aging.
