    Owner and history

Vines have been present at Château La Gaffelière since Gallo-Roman times, as evidenced by a villa discovered by the Count. Ausonius had a vineyard on this site in the 4th century. Today, the property has 36 hectares, 14 hectares of which were acquired in 2014. It is located at the entrance to the village of Saint-Emilion between the hills of Pavie and Ausone.

    Vinification and aging

The grapes are harvested by hand. After spending the night in a cold room, the berries are then sorted using an optical sorter to select the best grapes. The winery was completely renovated in 2013 and houses 20 temperature-controlled tanks. The wine is aged for 14 to 16 months, 50% of which is in new oak barrels.
