    Owner and history

The Pauillac appellation, in the heart of the Bordeaux Médoc, is renowned for having some of the best soils for viticulture. Indeed, the composition of the subsoil promotes rainwater retention, and the topography naturally enhances drainage for the vines. Furthermore, the oceanic climate perfects this exceptional terroir, regulating temperatures and preventing any extremes. Château Pichon Baron benefits from these ideal properties to produce exceptional wines vintage after vintage. Moreover, its gravelly soil, low in nutrients and without excess water, allows for the sparing nourishment of all the vines, however varied they may be. The vineyard is entirely composed of individual plots, including 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, 3% Cabernet Franc, and 2% Petit Verdot. All this diversity and exceptional quality at Château Pichon Baron allows for the creation of Classified Growths.
