The vineyard of Château Valandraud The vineyards extend across clay-limestone soils, which impart depth and minerality to the wines. The vines, some several decades old, are carefully cultivated to optimize their potential. climat Saint-Émilion, with its hot summers and mild winters, promotes optimal grape ripening, allowing the full richness of the terroir to be expressed. Each plot is carefully cultivated to guarantee exceptional quality, reflecting the authenticity of this renowned wine region.

Owner and history

Jean-Luc Thunevin and his partner Murielle Andraud are the passionate owners of Château Valandraud. Visionaries, they transformed this domaine as a symbol of excellence in the Saint-Émilion region. Their commitment to quality and their innovative approach to viticulture have allowed the domaine to rise among the most prestigious in Bordeaux. Their philosophy is based on a particular attention to detail and a deep respect for the terroir, making each vintage a unique expression of their know-how and their passion for wine.

Vinification and aging

Winemaking at Château Valandraud The wine is made with meticulous care. The grapes, harvested by hand, are rigorously sorted before being destemmed. Alcoholic fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled vats, allowing for precise temperature control. Aging in oak barrels imparts subtle aromas and remarkable complexity to the wine. Extended barrel aging refines the tannins and harmonizes the flavors, resulting in a balanced and elegant wine.
